This is an Architectural Salvage Large Carved Winged Griffin Mantle Wall Mount 2 Pieces Rare design of two open mouthed flying griffins with claw foot bottom. Use to create one of a kind items i.e. mantle accents or surrounds, table base, chair base, entrance way and so much more. Each piece is hand carved with all of the wings and top block attached to main frame. Amazing details and character. The do have a few areas where some corner pieces and dental work are missing, etc. (see all pictures) as well as line cracks however it is solid and can be easily repaired as well as painted or stained any color. Previously used on the sides of a fireplace mantle connected to other wood work.
